The Vertical Box technique is confirmed as an effective approach for restoring the vertical dimension of occlusion (VDO), ensuring predictable and repeatable outcomes. However, the prosthodontist’s dilemma remains: how can the prosthetic space created by increasing the VDO be filled? Will the patient accept the new intermaxillary relationship? From both an aesthetic and functional standpoint, will they recognize themselves in this new configuration? A crucial issue has always been the inability to go back in case of dissatisfaction.
The Vertical Box represents a true revolution in classical prosthetic protocols thanks to the introduction of a test phase through the “Rebalance,” which allows for complete and total reversibility. Two years after the technique’s introduction, with numerous clinical cases and growing consensus among colleagues throughout Italy and abroad, the focus has shifted to the finalization of prosthetic treatments after the test phase has been accepted.
This course focuses on the different prosthetic options for transitioning from the trial phase with Rebalance to the definitive rehabilitation, with particular emphasis on the finalization of full arches using injected or thermoplastic composite, carried out with a direct technique using guide templates: the White Box technique.
Dr. Alessandro Galluzzi, author of the Vertical Box technique, will provide a comprehensive overview and clarify the achieved objectives, illustrating the various applications across all professional fields of dentistry.
Dr. Nicolas Caviglia, a pioneer of direct techniques with more than 15 years of documented experience, will illustrate the operational protocol in every detail.
Dr. Orlando Paguaga Padilla will delve into the management of composite materials in the finishing and polishing phase, essential to ensure a long-lasting aesthetic result.

Dentist since 2003. He attended Oral Surgery and Implantology courses in the United States and Germany: “New Jersey Dental School” and “International Education Center for Dental Implantology” with Prof. Manfred Lang.
He has deepened his training in Implantology, Restorative Dentistry, Endodontics, Periodontology, Prosthodontics, and Gnathology with various national and international experts.
Since 2018, he has been involved in the diagnosis and treatment of cranio-mandibular disorders with Prof. Sandro Prati.
Since 2010, speaker at the University of Girón in Havana and the National Center of Odonto-Stomatology in Cuba.
Scientific advisor for IDI EVOLUTION since 2019.
In 2022, he trained in the cranio-mandibular disorders unit at Ospedale Maggiore in Milan.
Since 2023, university tutor (University of Milan – La Statale) in the gnathology department at Policlinico Maggiore in Milan with Prof. Sandro Prati.
In 2023, he published the Vertical Box Technique for restoring the vertical dimension of occlusion using digital workflow.

A Vertical Box technika hatékonynak bizonyult az okklúziós vertikális dimenzió (VDO) helyreállításában, kiszámítható és megismételhető eredményeket biztosítva. A fogpótlásokkal foglalkozó szakemberek dilemmája azonban továbbra is fennáll: hogyan tölthető ki a megnövelt VDO révén létrejövő protetikai tér? Elfogadja-e a páciens az új intermaxillaris kapcsolatot? Esztétikai és funkcionális szempontból jól érzi-e magát az új relációban? Fontos szempont a visszafordíthatóság kérdése elégedetlenség esetén.
A Vertical Box valódi forradalmat jelent a klasszikus protetikai protokollokban, köszönhetően a „Rebalance” tesztfázis bevezetésének, amely teljes visszafordíthatóságot biztosít. Két évvel a technika bevezetése után, számos klinikai esettel és a hazai és nemzetközi kollégák egyre növekvő elismerésével a hangsúly a tesztfázis elfogadását követő végleges protetikai rehabilitációra helyeződött át.
